I’m writing this in response to Senator Lankford’s letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland. In that letter, Mr. Lankford expresses opposition to marijuana being changed from a schedule I to schedule III.
I am weary of this opposition. James Lankford argues that cannabis has no health benefits. So I expect he will also write a very professional letter asking the FDA to list Jell-O shots and Braum’s ice cream as schedule I drugs. Do we know that Braum’s ice cream is safe? I have heard studies that say ice cream makes you fat and less miserable than James prefers.
Why do I have to write this letter. So ridiculous. But unfortunately I have to remind James (and yes, I included you too, Mullin & Brecheen) that there are many people affected by this catty fuss over weed. Most of the nurses I work with can’t sleep after four 12 hour shifts without marijuana. And I don’t just speak for healthcare workers.
Did you guys forget that legalization of marijuana is one of the only issues that moved many Oklahomans to sign petitions, vote, and spread awareness? On 4/20, sure. I’m be high trying to forget James’ cute little letter. But on 4/21 I’m talking to my friends about how we’re going to encourage senators to better represent Oklahoma. Be better - please?
Hope this wasn’t too stern. But Jeez I didn’t even want to do this. James, my man. Let’s get tacos and share some edibles. Just chill. Maybe we can figure out how to make Oklahoma an OK place. But I AM a healthcare worker so unless you want to get a Braum’s burger bag, you are paying.
Again, I’m not a senator. I work in a nursing home and I just want life to be better. I hope that despite its unprofessional dress, you can see this letter as the thoughts of a concerned citizen that it is.
