An Open Letter

To: Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell, Rep. Schrier

From: A verified voter in Woodinville, WA

September 22

I am writing to demand that you vote NO on any land transfer, land exchange, easement, or funding scheme that gives any portion of Yosemite National Park to a private developer. The administration is pursuing a deal that would cede a strip of Yosemite to Kingsbarn Realty Capital so the company can build a private access road to an 83-acre development outside the park. That is public land. It is not a bargaining chip. Vote NO on using the Land and Water Conservation Fund—or any other federal account—to underwrite this exchange. Vote YES on restoring National Park Service staffing and funding so Yosemite can be maintained, staffed, and kept safe for the public. Do not let a developer cut a private road through one of the most important parks in the country. Vote NO.
