It is critical that we move rapidly to confirm as many of President Biden's highly qualified judicial nominees as possible before the end of this Congress. The federal judiciary plays a vital role in upholding the rule of law and protecting constitutional rights. Leaving vacancies unfilled would allow the next administration to remake the courts in their own ideological mold. Over 200 of the President's nominees have already been confirmed, bringing much-needed professional diversity to the federal bench. However, there are still over 30 nominees awaiting votes, including 5 for influential appellate court seats. We must not squander this opportunity to shape a judiciary that better reflects the nation it serves. I urge you to prioritize the confirmation of these remaining nominees in the lame duck session. A fair, impartial and representative judicial branch is foundational to our democracy. Comprehensive action is needed now to uphold the integrity of the third co-equal branch of government before it is too late to act. The American people are counting on your leadership.
