Keep the Israel FUTURES Act out of the NDAA. Section 1217 would hand the Pentagon a mandate to integrate Israeli-origin technology into U.S. weapons systems and open DARPA, the Defense Innovation Unit, and the Missile Defense Agency to bilateral coordination with a foreign government — without the scrutiny that kind of arrangement demands. The security concerns here are serious. The Defense Intelligence Agency has reportedly rated Israel's counterintelligence threat at "critical," its highest level. The Army already cancelled Iron Dome battery purchases in 2020 after Israel refused to hand over the software source code needed for integration. That's not a partnership — that's a one-way door. Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent has called this initiative "treasonous," and the underlying record gives that word weight. The cloture vote failed 50-46 for a reason. Don't let this provision survive reconciliation or a future procedural maneuver. Strip Section 1217 from any version of the NDAA that reaches your desk.
