I’m writing to express my deep concern about the recent case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported in defiance of a Supreme Court order and is now being held in a high-security prison in El Salvador. The fact that a U.S. administration could ignore a direct ruling from the highest court — and that our Department of Justice has taken no meaningful action — is a serious threat to our system of checks and balances. This should not be a partisan issue. The rule of law and basic human rights must apply equally to everyone, regardless of politics. If the executive branch can disregard judicial authority without consequence, we risk undermining the very foundations of our democracy. I urge you to speak out, demand accountability, and support an investigation into how this was allowed to happen — and what can be done to bring Mr. Garcia home safely.
