Demand ceasefire, humanitarian aid for Gaza crisis
To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Stabenow
From: A constituent in Ann Arbor, MI
November 22
Nineteen Senate Democrats took a principled stand against the escalating violence and humanitarian crisis in Gaza by voting to block further offensive weapons shipments to Israel. As constituents, we have grave concerns about U.S. military aid enabling war crimes and fueling a catastrophic situation for Palestinian civilians. The dire conditions in Gaza, with tens of thousands killed and a devastated population subjected to inhumane deprivations, demand urgent action to pressure Israel to agree to an immediate ceasefire and allow unfettered humanitarian access. Our tax dollars should not subsidize what many credible human rights groups have characterized as an illegal occupation and genocide against the Palestinian people. We implore you to reconsider your opposition to these resolutions and take concrete steps to leverage U.S. aid to Israel in pursuit of a just peace that upholds human rights and dignity for all.
