As citizens, we have a fundamental right to privacy over our personal health information. The National Institutes of Health's plan to collect and share Americans' private medical records and data from various sources without explicit consent is a grave violation of our civil liberties. This mass surveillance of sensitive health data is unacceptable and must be stopped immediately. The rise in autism diagnoses does not justify trampling on privacy rights and compiling a massive database of people's confidential records. There are ethical ways to conduct research that do not infringe on individual privacy. I urge you to take immediate action to halt this unauthorized data collection and protect the medical privacy of all Americans. Our personal health information must not be exploited without our knowledge and consent.
