I am outraged by the deportation of Brown University professor of nephrology Dr. Rasha Alawieh, detained on her way home from Lebanon, where she had gone to visit family. She also attended the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah, a Shia religious leader. Aside from the fact that she is one of few nephrology specialists in the country, her deportation is yet another violation of lawful residency. She must be repatriated.
