Thirty-six American doctors signed a statement entered into the United States Congressional Record on April 30, 2026. They are neurologists, forensic psychiatrists, geriatricians, and physicians who teach at the institutions that train the doctors who treat the people who run the country. Two of them have won the Nobel Peace Prize. They have written a two-page document titled Medical Concerns About President Donald J. Trump and His Fitness for Office. And they have concluded — using clinical language and the careful, hedged caution of people who know exactly what their professional bodies are about to do to them — that the man currently holding sole, unchecked authority to launch more than five thousand American nuclear warheads is medically unfit to do so.
