I am demanding that you immediately initiate impeachment and removal proceedings against President Trump and his administration for hostile actions that constitute a direct threat to American national security. The president's reckless attempt to acquire Greenland through the appointment of Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as a special envoy demonstrates either profound ignorance of international law or willful disregard for our most critical alliances. Trump's behavior toward Denmark, a NATO ally that has defended American interests for over seven decades, is indefensible. His repeated public statements about making Greenland part of the United States have forced Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen to summon our ambassador to Copenhagen in what can only be described as a diplomatic emergency of our own making. This is not strategic thinking. This is the impulsive action of someone fundamentally unfit to conduct foreign policy. The president appears incapable of understanding that Greenland's 57,000 residents are not property to be traded. Both Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen and Greenlandic parliamentarian Aaja Chemnitz have explicitly rejected U.S. acquisition, stating clearly that Greenlanders intend to remain their own country and pursue independence. Yet Trump persists in this colonial fantasy, apparently unable to grasp basic concepts of sovereignty and self-determination that most Americans learn in high school civics. This is not normal diplomatic disagreement. This is an assault on a democratic ally that threatens the entire NATO alliance structure. Trump's actions suggest either dangerous incompetence or deliberate sabotage of American security interests. Either scenario demands immediate removal from office. The Constitution provides impeachment precisely for situations where a president betrays the national interest through abuse of power. This is that moment. I expect you to act immediately to protect our alliances and remove a president who lacks the intelligence and judgment to serve.
