Reimagining of the Democratic Party

To: Gov. Whitmer, Rep. Weiss, Sen. McMorrow

From: A constituent in Huntington Woods, MI

November 7

Time to organize. We became complacent and now have to fight for civil rights again just like 60 years ago. Time for marches. Time for unrest. No rep or senator blue or red should have a day where they are not answering to their constituents, you should be busier than anybody else in the country. Put young progressives on top and champion them in local and state elections. Time for a Renaissance and to mobilize the large amount of young voters that will fight for our cause. Repubs did just this over the past elections hammering home local and state elections. Time to do it better. I can help organize and fight for a better future for this country. We have taken the easy way of continuing the status quo for far too long. The only option left is the hard one, regain the enthusiasm from the masses to put themselves in a better position towards the future. We need to show our differences transparently instead of these guys say this. Show our differences, explain how it's different or tie it into something the viewer understands. We have to get rid of confusing rhetoric and be clear on our intentions and policies and explain the differences other than, "This one is better trust." 15 million less democratic votes and Trump received about the same votes as last election. We have lost touch with our base and need to bring them back in now. A good amount of this apathy started when Bernie was denied the party nomination. The old democratic guard lost touch with the young base and we have consistently lost votes to it and instead have to use moderate Dems who are basically on the right to keep some control over the government.
