Multilateral negotiations key to rules-based global trade system

To: Rep. Bonamici, Sen. Wyden, Sen. Merkley

From: A constituent in Portland, OR

April 19

Elected representatives must take decisive steps to reverse the damaging and reckless trade policies pursued by the current administration. Ongoing trade wars and unilateral tariffs endanger America's economic prosperity, disrupt critical supply chains, raise costs for businesses and consumers, undermine our competitiveness in global markets, and threaten millions of jobs. We urge you to work towards modernizing trade agreements through multilateral negotiations that uphold principles of free and fair trade while addressing legitimate grievances through a rules-based system that has long benefited American economic interests. Abandoning protectionism and restoring economic relationships with key trading partners is imperative to safeguard our nation's economic strength and future growth potential.
