An Open Letter

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Babin

From: A constituent in Houston, TX

September 1

This administration's corruption has reached a level that demands a direct congressional response, and I need to know you're doing something about it. Trump personally earned over $526 million last year from his own crypto firm, World Liberty Financial, which his own appointees just cleared to become a bank. Senator Elizabeth Warren called it "the most brazen act of self-dealing our financial system has ever seen." She's right. Meanwhile, the DOJ dropped a fraud case against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani shortly after his lawyers — including one of Trump's personal attorneys — pitched a $10 billion U.S. investment. The judge called the dismissal process "highly unusual" and "concerning" in a 47-page ruling. At the same time, Treasury is destroying an anti-corruption database it is legally required to maintain, wiping records that law enforcement and future administrations could use to pursue financial crimes. A former congressman called it "like ordering the deletion of the FBI's entire fingerprint database." This isn't incompetence — it's a deliberate effort to make corruption permanent and unpunishable. I want to know what oversight actions you are taking, what investigations you are demanding, and whether you will use every legislative tool available to stop this.
