The FBI raid on Virginia state Senate leader L. Louise Lucas' office on May 6 is a transparent attempt to intimidate a Democratic leader who helped run Virginia's redistricting effort. This raid has nothing to do with legitimate law enforcement and everything to do with punishing Lucas for her work countering voter suppression from the Trump regime. The timing and target make the political motivation obvious. Lucas led redistricting that will enable more Democrats to win congressional seats, and now an FBI run by Kash Patel and a Justice Department led by Trump's former personal attorney Todd Blanche are investigating her. This DOJ has already gone after James Comey, Letitia James, Adam Schiff, Jerome Powell, and six members of Congress. The pattern is clear: anyone who opposes Trump becomes a target. This is authoritarian intimidation dressed up as investigation. I need you to publicly condemn this raid and demand that the Justice Department provide evidence justifying this action or drop the investigation immediately. Lucas deserves fair redistricting work, not federal harassment for doing her job. Stand up against this abuse of power.
