This morning, in response to President Trump's unscientific and politically motivated threat to end federal funding to hospitals providing care to trans youth, doctors at Boston Children's Hospital began calling patients and their parents to cancel their appointments for gender affirming care. Trans youth face incredible challenges every day; in the face of political attacks on their very existence, gender affirming care is quite literally life-saving. President Trump has no authority to interfere with well-researched established medical protocols, for trans youth or anyone else. This executive order hurts children and goes against Massachusetts state laws protecting access to public accommodations for all individuals. Please speak out against this terrible overreach and do everything in your power to stop it.
