I am writing to urge the senator to oppose additional funding to ICE. Our financial priorities have gotten completely out of whack. With the ending of ACA subsidies, millions of Americans are going without healthcare or devoting a very large portion of their income to protect themselves from the terrifying risk of medical bankruptcy. At the same time, DHS is spending at unprecedented levels to terrorize Americans and we are spending billions of dollars a day to fund a war of choice pursued by a president who seems to care little about the plight of average Americans. This needs to change. The fight over ICE funding is critical for how we live our daily lives in America, but it is also critical for how we choose to spend our tax dollars. It is time to reduce funding for weapons and terror and to recommit to the programs that improve the lives of Americans. This funding fight is about that, so I urge you to vote against any more funding for ICE.
