I am demanding a congressional inquiry into ICE’s treatment of a minor detainee, Liam Conejo Ramos, currently held at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas. ICE confiscated and failed to return his personal property, including his hat and his Spider-Man backpack, and has provided no transparent justification or accounting. This is unacceptable treatment of a child in federal custody. I want your office to formally inquire with ICE and obtain documentation explaining the policy basis for confiscating these items, their current disposition, and whether this treatment complies with ICE standards for minors. I am not interested in platitudes or canned responses—only confirmation that an inquiry has been submitted and ICE has been forced to answer on the record.
