The massive overreach of financial institutions is out of control. As a constituent, I am writing to ask you to oppose financial censorship and also oppose KOSA, IODA, the SCREEN Act, the APCA,KOSMA, STOP CSAM and the BlockBEARD act. All of these acts put the privacy of children and families at risk by forcing platforms to over-censor and use insecure age verification methods to mine data and sell it without consent. Cybercrime and leaks have been more prominent in countries with mandatory age verification laws, and legal speech is being criminalized by authoritarian governments under the guise of protection of minors and women. Banks and payment processors have also endangered the rights of consumers and creators by imposing arbitrary standards on anyone who is unfortunate enough to be forced to use their services. Please fight censorship.
