Now that negotiations on the DHS bill are beginning in earnest I want to say, again, that ICE is a lawless, brutal, racist agency that needs to be abolished. But for now I beseech you to push for: —No masks, —More vetting of who can become an ICE agent — More training, — Clear ID for all ICE agents — More accountability for agents actions —- No quotas/bounty hunting or any semblance of that. I also want independent investigations into the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti - no excuses. ICE must secure judicial warrants - no more witch hunts in our neighborhoods! And finally, there must be more humanity and oversight in detention facilities. This cannot be about party. This can’t be about Republicans trying to “win” this negotiation. People are dying. Children are being teargassed in the streets. US Citizens are being held in prison (“detention camps.”) and ICE is building massive new (reportedly for-profit!) concentration camps everywhere. It is horrific and unAmerican. You cannot claim to be a Christian and support this. Please help Democrats achieve their very reasonable demands.
