First, I’m furious that Trump directed the Pentagon to scale back planned joint military exercises with South Korea. He is instead talking about his “very good relationship” with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. This is unhinged. Trump’s foreign policy is destabilizing the world order, endangering Americans, and alienating us from our allies. Congress needs to push back.
Second, I'm calling to urge the Congressmember to support H.R. 9901, the Safeguarding Endangered Species Act. Habitat loss is the primary driver of extinction and opening protected land to logging, mining, and drilling would be devastating to so many species across the country. Trump is attacking our wildlife and natural spaces and I’m furious about it.
Also, I urge you to vote NO on CORCA. This bill would give DHS and ICE sweeping new power to track our movements, monitor our associations, and collect our personal data - putting all of our privacy at risk. Please vote NO on CORCA.
Finally, Hakeem Jeffries is the wrong person to lead House Democrats. His comment yesterday that he doesn’t support Medicare For All is the latest sign that he’s completely out of touch with the Democratic base. If we want young people and infrequent voters to turn out in November Democrats should pledge to replace him. Democrats need a leader people are excited about. He is not it.
