Sen. Mike Lee’s remarks on X following the assassination of Rep. Hortman and the attempt on Sen. Hoffman are grounds for removal under the 14th Amendment, Section 3. Mocking political violence violates his oath. The Senate Ethics Committee must act immediately. Public officials who excuse or normalize violence cannot be trusted to uphold democracy. This must be reviewed. We will not tolerate this type of public disrespect during times of political violence.
