Vote no on Todd Blanche's confirmation as attorney general tomorrow. Rescinding the $1.776 billion slush fund in name means nothing when the Department of Justice just paid $1.2 million to Paul Vaughn — convicted of blocking access to a reproductive health clinic — and legal analyst Barb McQuade has confirmed the administration will simply route payments through "individual settlements instead of one designated fund." The fund isn't dead. It's just less visible. Blanche also appears to have violated the Epstein Files Transparency Act. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan is currently reviewing whether Blanche unlawfully over-redacted documents after journalist Katie Phang sued for access. Confirming him now, before that review concludes, makes every senator who votes yes look complicit in a cover-up that your own base elected Trump to expose. That's a serious political liability heading into the midterms, on top of a president whose approval sits at roughly one-third — numbers that rival Nixon's just before he resigned. Senators Cornyn and Tillis called Blanche's one-pager a "binding written order." Legal analyst Lisa Rubin was blunt: "This isn't an order nor does it bind anyone." Don't let a fig leaf become your legacy. Vote no.
