Restore Article 1 on Congress.gov

To: Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters, Rep. Thanedar

From: A constituent in Lincoln Park, MI

August 6

I am writing to demand an explanation for the removal of Sections 9 and 10 from Article I of the United States Constitution on Congress.gov. These sections contain vital safeguards limiting congressional and state power, and their disappearance from an official government resource is both alarming and unacceptable. Frankly, I’m sick of the fascist overreach coming from the Executive Branch and equally disgusted by Congress’s apparent unwillingness to hold it accountable. This isn’t an isolated incident, it seems coordinated, especially given public statements from Stephen Miller regarding the suspension of habeas corpus, a right explicitly protected in Section 9. I am demanding that the site be returned to its original state. It currently reflects a reality twisted by authoritarian manipulation, a hallmark of a fascist regime bent on eroding constitutional protections piece by piece. The American people deserve access to the full and accurate Constitution, unaltered and unhidden. Transparency and accountability are not optional.
