Leaders must unite, not divide - reject partisan malice

To: Sen. Cantwell, Rep. Jayapal, Sen. Murray

From: A constituent in Seattle, WA

June 17

Act with honor to unite a broken nation, rather than shamefully peddling division like Mike Lee. This is not a game. This is not clout building time. This is not us vs them. This is dangerous. This normalized culture of malice is unbecoming of representatives of the United States. We are facing a serious crisis that demands sober leadership and a commitment to democratic norms. Murder is bad. It is shocking and deeply troubling that elected officials like Mike Lee would stoke division and unrest rather than work to unite the country during these turbulent times. I urge Mike Lee to rise above partisan loyalties, reject anti-democratic efforts, and focus on upholding your sworn duty to protect and defend the Constitution. The American people deserve better than this shameful dereliction of duty from Mike Lee.
