ICE is killing Americans. Not one dime more for them. Republicans have already indicated they are not going to give an inch. You must meet them with similar stubbornness and resolve. Not one more dime unless there are serious reforms. The reforms being touted by Democratic leadership in the Senate (ahem, looking at you, Senator Schumer) are no more than saying you will get a promise by ICE to follow the law. They should already be following the law, and we know their promises mean nothing! We must either defund and abolish DHS/ICE or make significant reforms, including: - All ICE agents fired, rehired, and retrained with adequate background checks and training - Remove senior management including Kristi Noem and Steven Miller - End family detentions, no detention of minors, not opening of new detention camps. No one should be detained without a trial and sentence. Criminals can be detained in our current prison system prior to being deported.  - No more ICE and Border Patrol dragnet arrest operations and targeting of people based on their race, language, or accen,t or place of employment. - No ICE or Border Patrol enforcement at houses of worship, schools, day cares, or hospitals. - End Border Patrol deployments to our cities and reject its ever-expanding mandate in immigration enforcement. - And allow for lawsuits and other redress to anyone whose rights are violated by DHS/ICE — no immunity, removal of officers, and monetary compensation for anyone whose rights are violated. At this point, it is maddeningly difficult to get any redress (And, yes, I know you've called for no masks and ID for agents, that is the bare, bare minimum) If Republicans are concerned about the TSA, FEMA or the Coast Guard, let them agree to carving those out of the bill that funds DHS/ICE.  The American people have had enough of the cruelty and lawlessness of this administration and its Republican collaborators. This has to stop. We are asking you to be bold. Show us that you are on the side of the millions of us who are marching in the streets. Show us you are on the side of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Do not follow, lead.
