Block the DOJ's Unlawful Subpoenas Targeting Trans Children's Medical Records

To: Rep. Walberg, Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters

From: A verified voter in Stevensville, MI

Speak out publicly and use every tool available to block the DOJ from enforcing its administrative subpoenas against children's hospitals. The Trump administration has issued at least 20 nearly identical subpoenas demanding the names, home addresses, Social Security numbers, and medical records of transgender minors receiving lawful care. This is not a fraud investigation. It is a federal registry of trans children, built through intimidation. The care targeted by these subpoenas is legal in the states where it was provided. Chief Judge James Boasberg already found "extensive evidence of animus" and "wafer-thin justifications lacking evidentiary support" when he blocked similar DOJ investigations last week. A federal court in Texas granted enforcement of one subpoena against Rhode Island Hospital within hours and without notifying a single affected patient. Once those records reach the federal government, the harm cannot be undone. Eleven families filed a proposed nationwide class action in Maryland federal court to stop this. They should not have to fight alone. I need you to stand with them — publicly, loudly, and now.
