Stand Up for Pennsylvania Medical Research

To: Sen. Cappelletti, Rep. Briggs, Gov. Shapiro

From: A constituent in Wayne, PA

July 23

Pennsylvania is home to some of the world’s leading medical research institutions, including CHOP and Penn. Recent federal cuts to Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) grants have already forced research programs to close, putting medical discoveries, jobs, and better patient care at risk. Please use your office to advocate for restoring this funding and to defend Pennsylvania’s research institutions. Work with our congressional delegation, support every available state effort to strengthen biomedical research, and speak out against funding decisions that undermine evidence-based healthcare. Medical research saves lives, attracts top scientists and businesses, and fuels Pennsylvania’s economy. Our Commonwealth should be leading medical innovation—not watching it disappear because of abrupt federal funding cuts. Protect Pennsylvania’s patients, researchers, and future by standing up for the research that improves healthcare for all.
