I am writing because of the report I read today by Wisconsin publisher and podcaster Kirk Bangstad, who reports that there are currently armed guards in the Carol Stream regional USPS facility who are from a private security force. Who is giving them their orders? How were they trained? What is their role? WHY ARE THEY EVEN THERE? Please, Gov Pritzker, get those people out of our post office. We found a memo from Franklin Peden, the Executive Plant Manager for the Carol Stream Processing and Distribution Center at 550 Fullerton Ave., dated September 1, 2026. In this memo, Peden said there were 12 security guards posted at this location that serves all of Chicago’s North Side and Northern Suburbs."
