Under no circumstances should you agree to Thune’s proposal to open the government without a guaranteed extension of the ACA subsidies, especially since Thune’s promise to bring that to a vote in December will be too late for people choosing coverage now during open enrollment. The republicans do not exactly have a great record on following up on their promises. The government shut down is painful, especially with the illegal suspension of SNAP benefits, not to mention the airports debacles. But stand firm. The American people need you to defend themselves from the rapacious greed of health insurance companies and the republicans who think nothing of weaponizing starvation to squeeze more money out of poor people. STAND. YOUR. GROUND.
