congress I’m writing for a couple of reasons.  #1, I understand that the FDA is planning on ending routine food inspections (https://substack.com/redirect/db58afd1-184f-452f-b9a8-b9a57c31fa0d?j=eyJ1IjoiNDl0YnIifQ.vDiLZfK6vOtHbXaLEJWvwpXYuWxLRfcWJMg0Vly4OnQ). Seriously? Are we supposed to just take our chances that what we eat won’t sicken or even kill us? This is outrageous. The Senator/Congressmember must oppose these changes and work to keep our food inspection system fully intact. #2, Pete Hegseth must resign. Now. The news about another Signal leak—this one involving his wife (https://substack.com/redirect/0176b72c-d008-4958-85d1-c87007480293?j=eyJ1IjoiNDl0YnIifQ.vDiLZfK6vOtHbXaLEJWvwpXYuWxLRfcWJMg0Vly4OnQ)—should be the final straw. We are not safe with him in charge of our national defense. The Senator/Congressmember needs to call for him to go now. #3, due process matters. Kilmar Abrego Garcia and others like him must be brought home at once. The constitution applies to everyone or it applies to no one. Thanks. #4, I want my elect-eds to show courage and creativity in these fraught times - like Senators Booker and Van Hollen. I urge one of you to travel with colleagues to a country where USAID aid was abruptly cut by DOGE, food is rotting and children are starving.
