Reverse harmful immigrant services ban; uphold human rights

To: Sen. Peters, Rep. Moolenaar, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Rockford, MI

July 10

I urge you to reconsider the recent changes to PRWORA that deny access to Head Start programs for children of immigrants without legal status. Head Start plays a vital role in providing early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income families. Denying these critical services to children based solely on their parents' immigration status is cruel and counterproductive, depriving vulnerable youngsters of the foundation they need for healthy development and future success. I implore you to uphold our nation's commitment to giving every child a fair start in life by restoring access to Head Start regardless of immigration status.
