The United States was founded on principles of freedom, democracy and checks on abusive power. When a president corrupts the office for personal gain, defies constitutional constraints, and attacks the foundations of self-government, we have a patriotic duty to seek accountability through impeachment. Over 100,000 citizens recognize this and are urging Congress to uphold its constitutional obligations by launching an impeachment inquiry into President Trump's egregious abuses. Trump has repeatedly violated the Emoluments Clauses by profiting from foreign governments paying his businesses millions of dollars, creating unacceptable conflicts of interest. His 2024 campaign was marred by threats of violence, racist rhetoric endangering communities, and apparent illegal coordination of benefits for contributions. Since taking office, his transgressions have only escalated - obstructing oversight, firing officials enforcing worker protections, abusing emergency powers, overriding states' authority, and rewarding insurrectionists with pardons. Congress must act decisively in defense of our democracy before further abuses occur. Initiating impeachment proceedings will affirm that no person, even the president, is above the Constitution and the rule of law. The Republic depends on elected leaders willing to fulfill their sworn duty to check presidential corruption and lawlessness. We call on you to open an impeachment investigation into Donald Trump without delay.
