You need to publicly condemn Elon Musk's statement that gender-affirming care providers "should receive a death sentence." This is not a random troll on the internet. This is the world's wealthiest man, who spent $100 million on midterm ads targeting trans people, and whose posts have already been linked to real-world violence — including a racist pogrom in Northern Ireland where vigilantes burned down homes. Words from someone with that kind of reach and money are not just rhetoric. They are a threat. The consequences for GAC providers are already severe. Over a quarter have received online harassment, nearly a third have had their workplaces threatened, and many have been flooded with death threats — and that's in states without anti-trans restrictions. Musk's post is accelerant on a fire that is already burning. One commenter on that very tweet openly asked him to fund a political campaign to implement the death penalty for these doctors. That is radicalization happening in real time. Silence from elected officials is complicity. I need you to go on record condemning this statement, call it what it is — incitement — and push for accountability. Trans people and their doctors are your constituents too.
