I am a constituent of yours. Although I am sure that you agree with me, I’m writing to add my voice to those opposing the draconian cuts to Medicaid and other social safety net programs that the Republicans are proposing to fund an unnecessary tax cut for billionaires. At the end of her life, my mother was dependent on Medicaid for her skilled nursing care so this proposal hits home for me. I urge you to use your leverage, up to and including a government shutdown, to oppose this ridiculous plan. I appreciate your advocacy for the people of Illinois. We are better for it.
