I am writing as a concerned constituent regarding the recent actions of the Department of Justice under Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and deputies Todd Blanche, Dan Bongino, and Emil Bove. The Department’s mission is to uphold the law and protect all Americans, yet evidence shows these officials have prioritized the personal interests of Donald Trump and his allies over justice and accountability. Examples of concerning behavior include: Dropping charges against Trump’s co-defendants and former NYC Mayor Eric Adams in the classified documents case. Terminating career DOJ prosecutors, including Jan. 6 investigators and Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team. Initiating investigations targeting Trump’s perceived political rivals, including John Brennan and Letitia James. Discrediting and firing whistleblowers who reported misconduct and obstruction of court orders. Attempting to replace top prosecutors with Trump-affiliated attorneys to pursue politically motivated indictments. These actions represent a dangerous politicization of the DOJ and FBI, eroding public trust in institutions designed to enforce the law impartially. Weaponizing federal agencies to protect allies or target critics undermines both democracy and the rule of law. I urge Congress to take immediate oversight and corrective measures: Investigate all actions by DOJ and FBI leadership that compromise impartial enforcement of the law. Hold officials accountable for misconduct, obstruction of justice, and political interference. Ensure the DOJ serves the public interest, protecting all Americans equally, not just the wealthy or politically connected. Restore confidence in federal law enforcement by reinforcing career prosecutors and ethical safeguards. Congress must act decisively to defend the independence and integrity of our nation’s justice system. Americans deserve a DOJ that upholds the law rather than shields the powerful from accountability.
