Why are more congressional representatives not following the lead of Senator Bernie Sanders and House Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? We should have every senator and representative vocally expressing outrage over not only the abuse of civil rights, but the massive tax handout to those with already more than could be spent in several lifetimes. The very same people who are taking advantage of the market instability to purchase up stock cheap, while millions of Americans have lost chunks of their retirement savings. Things are only going to get worse before they get better. So long as those with far too much are insulated from any real consequences this will not change. We need to restructure the tax code to properly tax those who hide their wealth in stocks, bonds, cryptocurrency and other non-taxable/low tax investments while drawing dividends sufficient enough to live lavishly, or using those assets as collateral to secure even more assets (Elon Musk using Tesla stock as collateral for Twitter).
