I urge you to pass the Stand Up for Sudan Act (H.R.2059, S.935), which would prohibit U.S. arms sales to the UAE government unless it ends material support to the Rapid Support Forces currently waging a devastating war in Sudan.
After 18 months of brutal civil war, the suffering in Sudan has reached incalculable levels: 400,000 people are starving as famine spreads, and horrific satellite imagery has captured the bloody remnants of mass killings.
While the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is investigated for its role in potential war crimes, it continues to receive weapons from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) — the same government that the United States is arming with billions of dollars in weapons deals.
The Emirati government is complicit in the suffering in Sudan, and the U.S. has an obligation to hold its allies accountable - and the best way to do that is to block arms sales. That will end the genocide quicker.
Please sign on as a co-sponsor and support the Stand Up for Sudan Act (H.R.2059, S.935.).
