Defund ICE and vote to block these third-country deportations. The Supreme Court just greenlit sending people to countries they have no connection to, with no meaningful notice and no real chance to argue they'll face torture or abuse. This isn't enforcement — it's deliberate cruelty dressed up as policy. The record is already damning. Migrants removed under this policy have faced arbitrary detention, beatings, sexual assault, and deportation to countries the U.S. itself had previously granted them protection from. These are not hypothetical risks — lawyer Trina Realmuto told the court these harms "cannot be undone." The administration's position is that a diplomatic assurance from Secretary Rubio is sufficient to override someone's right not to be tortured. That is not a legal standard. That is a rubber stamp. ICE is the instrument making this happen. Defunding it is the only way to stop an agency that has repeatedly shown it will carry out abuses when given the authority to do so. The December oral argument gives Congress a window to act before this policy is fully normalized. Use it.
