Senator, I am writing to you today to urge you not to back Chuck Schumer for Senate Majority Leader. While Chuck Schumer has done fantastic work for us in the past, the age in which that was true is gone now. Americans, particularly Georgians, need a Senate Majority Leader who can rise to the occasion in the face of the massive nationwide mandate that the Democratic Party has just been handed. “Moving forward”, “looking to the future”, and all those other nice little idioms only work so long as we deal with the problems of the past. As proven in the nationwide 2024 election, right-wing extremism cannot be defeated by simply pretending it doesn’t exist. The crimes perpetrated by this administration, the corruption, the total disregard for the well-being of the American people, needs to be met by a leader who is at least moderately prepared to bring the perpetrators to account. America handed you this on a silver platter, I urge you to do the job you were elected to do; or else America will abandon you again in 2028.
