Stop US Involvement in Iran/Israel Conflict

To: Pres. Trump, Sen. Rouson, Gov. DeSantis, Rep. Castor, Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody, Rep. Rayner

From: A constituent in Saint Petersburg, FL

June 22

As a concerned citizen, I implore you to stand firm against any escalation of hostilities between the United States and Iran. The consequences of military engagement would be catastrophic, leading to immeasurable loss of life, destabilizing the region, and draining our resources in an unending conflict. We must pursue diplomatic solutions and engage in de-escalation efforts to avoid being entangled in another senseless, perpetual war in the Middle East. The administration's inflammatory rhetoric and deployment of military assets are deeply troubling, reflecting the same pattern of deception and disregard for congressional oversight that led us into the disastrous Iraq War. History has shown the grave costs of such unilateral action without proper authorization or justification. I urge you to support the bipartisan war powers resolutions in Congress to reassert its constitutional authority over matters of war and peace. The American people have no appetite for another open-ended military campaign based on questionable intelligence. It is imperative that you act as a strong check on the executive branch and prevent this administration from recklessly dragging our nation into an unwarranted conflict with Iran that would prove devastating for all involved.
