Oppose Parental Rights Bill as Government Overreach

To: Sen. Ossoff, Rep. Scott, Sen. Warnock

From: A constituent in Covington, GA

April 16

Vote no on this so-called parental rights bill. It's government overreach disguised as protecting children. This bill uses emotional manipulation about child safety to justify stripping parents of their actual decision-making power. The real goal is to create new government mandates that interfere with how families function. When politicians claim they're empowering parents while simultaneously telling them exactly what they must do, that's not empowerment. That's control. Parents don't need the state dictating how we keep our kids safe. We need resources, not restrictions. This bill creates bureaucratic hurdles that will make parenting harder, not easier. It opens the door for government officials to second-guess everyday parenting decisions under the guise of safety standards. I expect you to see through this rhetoric and vote against this bill. Real support for families means trusting parents to make decisions for their own children without government interference.
