As a Washington resident, I am writing to urge you and your colleagues to stand firm against the Republican budget proposals now moving through Congress. These plans would slash vital healthcare funding and dismantle programs that millions of Americans, including families in our state, depend on to stay h ealthy, housed, and secure. I encourage you not to compromise on essential services just to satisfy partisan demands for cuts. Instead, please use your position to force meaningful negotiations that protect and strengthen the public good - especially Medicaid, Medicare, the Affordable Care Act, and other safety-net programs.
