Tell Trump to Sign the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act Now

To: Sen. Blackburn, Rep. Kustoff, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Brownsville, TN

June 25

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act passed both chambers of Congress with wide bipartisan support. It is sitting on Trump's desk right now. Your silence while he holds it hostage to an unrelated elections bill is a failure of your constituents, and I need you to say so publicly and loudly. Trump canceled the signing ceremony two hours before it was scheduled, calling the most comprehensive housing legislation in decades "minor importance." This bill limits institutional investors from bulk-buying single-family homes, converts vacant commercial buildings into affordable housing, and expands options for veterans. In cities like Jacksonville, investors already own more than 20% of single-family rentals. In Dallas and Phoenix, investor-owned homes jumped 177% and 114% respectively between 2018 and 2024. This bill starts to fix that. Trump has a 10-day window to sign or veto. That clock is running. Get on the record demanding he sign it. If you won't push back when a president openly admits he's blocking housing relief to extract a political concession, what exactly are you here for?
