No More Funds for Trump's Blundering War

To: Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff, Rep. Johnson

From: A verified voter in Atlanta, GA

March 30

In 1983 President Reagan sent the US Marines to Beirut, Lebanon, as ostensible peacekeepers. That mission was ill-conceived from a military point of view: Our guys were essentially deployed in a fishbowl, visible from all sides and in easy range of snipers and infantry weapons which carried out steady harrassing fire. Then Islamic Jihad, linked with Hezbollah, used a truck bomb to kill 240-some Marines in one shot. To recap: The President sent the US military on a poorly defined mission for the sake of political showmanship, and US service members died. That nitwit Trump wants to repeat the mistake, on a larger scale. He is already preparing to sacrifice members of one or two Marine Expeditionary Units and the 82nd Airborne Division in his pointless and ill-advised war. Let's see what Congress can do to curtail the harm done by our malicious-nincompoop-in-chief. I urge you to oppose any additional funding for the DoD and Trump's war, let alone, God forbid, another $200 billion.
