Reject Gabbard's Concerning Intelligence Director Nomination
To: Sen. Gillibrand, Sen. Schumer
From: A constituent in Buffalo, NY
January 31, 2025
I strongly urge opposition to the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence. Tulsi Gabbard's nomination as Director of National Intelligence is deeply concerning given her history of sympathizing with authoritarian regimes and echoing Kremlin propaganda. As a U.S. representative, she secretly met with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, lending support to him remaining in power despite his flagrant human rights abuses and war crimes against civilians. Furthermore, Gabbard has repeatedly parroted Russian disinformation regarding their unjustified invasion of Ukraine, attracting praise from Putin's state media apparatus. These actions call into question her allegiance and ability to safeguard America's interests. Granting Gabbard access to our nation's most sensitive intelligence would jeopardize national security. Her nomination represents a dire threat that must be firmly rejected to protect our democratic institutions and uphold American values. Opposing Gabbard's confirmation is crucial to preventing a compromised individual from overseeing the U.S. Intelligence Community.
