An Open Letter

To: Rep. Moolenaar, Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Rockford, MI

February 16

**Censure Rep. Randy Fine for Anti-Muslim Statement** I am writing to urge you to support a formal censure of Representative Randy Fine for his recent Islamophobic statement on social media. Fine posted on X that "If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one." This statement is not merely offensive rhetoric. It explicitly dehumanizes Muslim Americans by suggesting they are worth less than animals. Representative Fine has established a pattern of anti-Palestinian comments and celebrating Israeli military actions in Gaza. This latest statement crosses a clear line from policy disagreement into religious bigotry that has no place in Congress. Members of Congress represent all their constituents regardless of faith and must maintain basic standards of respect for religious communities. A formal censure would send an unambiguous message that Congress does not tolerate dehumanizing statements about any religious group. It would reaffirm our commitment to religious freedom and equal dignity for all Americans. I ask that you publicly support censuring Representative Fine and make clear that such statements are incompatible with service in Congress.
