Do not vote for any appropriations bill that contains anti-trans or anti LGBTQ+ provisions! And exert all the pressure you can to prevent Democrats from doing so. A shutdown is preferable to caving. As your constituent I will do everything I can to vote in another representative if you don't stand up to the Republicans in this case AND do everything in your power to sway all of the Democratic caucus to vote likewise. That is how important I think it is to draw the line here. I am not transgender or LGBTQ+. I am straight, but not narrow. And I stand against this persecution of our transgender and LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters, and especially children. These transgender and LGBTQ+ provisions are a strategic foot in the door for the Republicans to gain further power. If you fold on this, the Republicans will not need many more attempts before they will have thrown the door wide open to unchecked power, to further oppress us and erode our freedoms by fiat. Conversely, standing your ground will result in the Republicans losing ground. The door to unchecked power will close that much more because of your resistance. There is no middle ground here. This is a zero sum moment. We either win or lose. Straight but not narrow. Vote NO!
