President’s unauthorized military operation in Venezuela.

To: Sen. Duckworth, Sen. Durbin, Rep. Ramirez

From: A verified voter in Chicago, IL

January 3

I’m a constituent from Chicago, and I’m urgently asking you to take immediate action in response to the President’s unauthorized military operation in Venezuela. This use of force was launched without congressional approval, in direct conflict with Article I war powers and the War Powers Resolution. No president — of any party — should be allowed to initiate hostilities without the consent of Congress. I’m asking you to: 1. Publicly oppose this unauthorized action. 2. Support or introduce a War Powers Resolution requiring withdrawal unless Congress votes to authorize force. 3. Demand full transparency about the scope, objectives, and legal justification for the operation. Please act quickly. Congress must reassert its constitutional authority before this escalates further.
