An Open Letter

To: Sen. Collins, Sen. King, Rep. Pingree

From: A constituent in Portland, ME

Please vote against the interstate obscenity definition bill! It is an incredibly slippery slope to say anything that " Lacks scientific, political, artistic or literary value" is considered obscene and pornographic. This could lead to one side of the political spectrum saying to the other side that because they don't agree with them, it lacks "political value" and is therefore considered obscene. It's an incredibly slippery slope to define some things as obscene, because where do we draw the line?
