Oppose SB 467

To: Gov. Kemp, Sen. Watson, Rep. Williams

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

February 12

As a constituent I am vehemently opposed to age verification requirements being proposed in SB 497. Texas's version of this bill was ruled unconstitutional and an injunction was filled against it. More lawsuits than benefits come from bills like these, and more often than not, data theft happens as a result of laws like these. Please stop wasting taxpayer money on faulty age verification and data theft. There are better ways to protect kids and their data, such as: -requiring companies to erase the sensitive data and photos of minors -restricting the non-consensual sale of data and banning the data collection of kids and minors -Banning AI companies from scraping data, no matter what the reason is -Requiring a warrant for agencies that collect data for law enforcement purposes These are more effective than banning adults from accessing adult media and subjecting everyone to AV and ID checks that result in leaks, or worse, the ROBLOX kidnapping incident. Please oppose SB 467 as written. Thank you.
